12 March 2015 | Hamburg | *Homage to Rudolf Seifert alias Captain Hansen*

Captain Hansen is the fictitious name of Rudolf Seifert, who at his passing left about 20,000 slides behind. Years later the slides ended up in the hands of journalist Ulf Schubert, who started looking at and writing about them without knowing who had taken them. The slides are showing images from around the world. Pictures of a traveller, of himself and of his companion, who turned out to be his surviving wife. After his death, she had asked an employee to dispose the slides in a near by waste incineration plant. The pictures however did not hit the flames and survived Rudolf Seifert. Pictures that document his life, his journeys, places he visited and people he met. A moving story about pictures and life and how pictures start living up to their own fate.
